We like to have a conversation with you to discuss your goals and get to know each other a bit. We want to ensure that your expectations are met. This is an optional step, but we highly encourage you to take advantage of it.
You will work one-on-one with us. We are both Certified Nutrition Specialist practitioners with extensive training and experience in functional medicine. We encourage you to gather your recent laboratory and procedure results from relevant practitioners so that we can review them within the context of your goals and concerns.
Our assessment session is $195 and this includes review of your history, goals, and current state of health. We work with most people via distance (i.e. over the phone or video conference service), so you don't need to come to the office for every session. In fact, some people never come to the office in Hudson.
Following your assessment session, you will receive via email, a summary of our conversation and specific steps to take to achieve your goals. This will include a focus on food, nutritional supplement schedule changes (if necessary), movement and exercise considerations, potential laboratory tests or other assessment techniques, key areas to monitor, other resources, and ways to maximize your plan.
We will have 6-8 sessions over 4-6 months building on each session as we go. We start with the big stuff. Food recommendations and the some actionable behavior changes that you are ready to make come first. You'll learn which systems need the most support and what to do about it. We'll assess your markers for health and disease with a holistic perspective. You will take the reigns as we add the necessary strategic framework for your future goals beyond our program. It's a process unlike any other as the emphasis is always on the pace, rhythm, and context of your progress. We will train you for wellness the way a coach trains an endurance athlete.
We do not do blood draws in the office but we coordinate with a laboratory patient service center. We can also run a variety of labs that are done in your home (saliva, stool, urine) via a kit that you send directly to the lab. However, we do not require any specific laboratory tests in order to work with us. If a test will not change our treatment, then it is an unnecessary expense and unwarranted. We will order laboratory testing as requested in partnership with your preferences and needs. Many inexperienced practitioners rely heavily on tests. We used to be those people. Fortunately, we have refined our skills to a point where it is not as important. If you are wondering if we can help you, we strongly recommend taking advantage of our free consult. If we do not feel confident that we can support you, we will recommend alternative resources which may be a better fit for you.
